The steam overlay isnt working anymore and the in-launcher fix isnt fixing it.

I don't have access to my in-game cloud saves or the steam overlay while playing the game. not sure if this is the right place to ask, please guide me to the correct place if not!

What do you mean you don't have access to your cloud saves? Unmodded ones? You will need to download your saves if need be, but do not upload modded saves, best to use local saves. As for the overlay, what OS are you on and can you attach your memoria.ini?

for cloud saves, I mean the cloud save option in-game is greyed out. It usually shows up normally.

About the overlay, it just started working again out of nowhere, I did a bit of testing and it takes about 5 minutes after launching the game to show up so that isn't an issue anymore.

I'm on windows 11. Where can I find the memoria.ini?

nevermind I found the file, but it tells me the file type isnt supported when I try attaching it, so i copied the contents into a notepad. Sorry for the inconvenience

Hmm I don't know much about the Cloud save, best I can say unless someone else corrects me is to go back to Vanilla FF9 grab your cloud save and download it, then patch it with Memoria and use your saves like normal. Glad the overlay fixed itself, could have been a hiccup?

Not sure really, because it still takes a few minutes to start working whenever I launch the game, but it's better than nothing I suppose. If i had to guess I'd say that the cloud needs to be connected to steam on launch for it to work, which might be stopping the cloud from working. Hopefully the problem fixes itself entirely soon though, im really paranoid about my saves disappearing lmao.

When it comes to playing games modded, don't rely on Cloud, as its not recommended to upload modded saves and there won't be support for that unless @Tirlititi corrects me otherwise. I suggest using things like save state or other programs that are for handling saves and that can work with steam so they are backed up to a safe location for you (even to your google drive for example so you get your own pseudo cloud save).
