🚀 How to Test Current Features

1. Start DSCode

npm run tauri:dev

2. Open a Folder

  • Click 📁 icon in Explorer header
  • OR click "Open Folder" button in empty state
  • Select any folder on your system

3. Browse Files

  • Click folders to expand/collapse
  • Click files to open in editor

4. Edit & Save

  • Make changes in Monaco editor
  • Watch dirty indicator (●) appear
  • Press Ctrl+S to save
  • Dirty indicator disappears

5. Tab Management

  • Open multiple files
  • Click tabs to switch
  • Click × to close (or Ctrl+W)
  • Watch active tab highlighting

6. Test Languages

  • Open .rs files (Rust highlighting)
  • Open .ts files (TypeScript)
  • Open .json files (JSON)
  • Monaco auto-detects and highlights

7. Test Command Palette

  • Press Ctrl+Shift+P (or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac)
  • Type to search commands (e.g., "save", "close", "toggle")
  • Use arrow keys to navigate
  • Press Enter to execute command
  • Try: "File: Save", "View: Toggle Sidebar"

8. Test Quick Open

  • Press Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on Mac)
  • Type file name to search
  • Fuzzy matching works (e.g., "pkg" finds "package.json")
  • Arrow keys to navigate, Enter to open
  • Shows recently opened files when empty

9. Test File Watching

  • Open a file in DSCode
  • Edit the same file in another editor (VS Code, vim, etc.)
  • Save the external changes
  • Watch DSCode auto-reload the file
  • Note: Won't reload if you have unsaved changes in DSCode

🐛 Known Issues

  1. No undo after save - Monaco undo history resets on tab switch (will fix)
  2. No settings persistence - Settings not saved between sessions
  3. Git status placeholder - Shows "main" branch but not real git status
  4. No search functionality - Can't search within files or across project
  5. Command palette limited - Only basic commands available (more coming)

Based on Tauri architecture:
