Compression libs linking

Hey I just started including this library in a project I'm working on, and the dependency on blosc-src (from zarrs) is causing runtime linking issues, e.g /usr/bin/ld: blosc.c:(.text.blosc_c+0x301): undefined reference to LZ4_compress_fast and other similar issues related to LZ4, snappy, zlib and zstd. My project was already using blosc (but not blosc-src directly) and everything works fine, I do have those c libs installed, are the compression libs linked against is a special way in zarrs? Do I need to link in a special way when I use zarrs?

I use blosc-src in zarrs, because blosc depends on blosc-sys which unfortunately does not fallback to building from source if the blosc library is not found. Unfortunately, you can't use both blosc-sys and blosc-src in a project because both link to the blosc library.

So your best bet is port your project to blosc-src. Your users will get a better install experience out of it anyway because they don't have to manually build / install blosc.

Ah yes, I see, I was a bit confused by blosc-sys vs blosc-src, that makes sense now, replicating the blosc function I needed using blosc-src functions did allow everything to run and link.
