Center the chat on the window instead of the chat pane

Problem

The chat column (timeline and composer) is centered within the chat pane, i.e. the space left after the sidebar. With the sidebar open, the conversation therefore sits noticeably right of the window's center. On a wide window this is the main thing your eyes land on, and it feels off-balance. The Codex app, for comparison, keeps its conversation centered on the window.

Proposal

Center the chat column on the window when there is room for it, and fall back to centering within the pane when there isn't:

• If the column, centered on the window, would fit entirely inside the chat pane, center it on the window.
• Otherwise (wide sidebar, narrow window, right panel open, or Chat width set to Wide/Full), shift it as little as needed so it stays fully inside the pane. It never slides under the sidebar.
• Toggling the sidebar then no longer moves the conversation sideways, as long as the column fits.

If this shouldn't be the default

If you'd rather keep the current behavior by default, this could be an option next to Settings → Appearance → Chat width (#11594), e.g. "Center chat on: Pane / Window". It would only change horizontal alignment of the existing chat column, not its width.
