I'm a fellow Kubecrafter under the tutelage of Mischa! I'll thank him for turning me on to RWXROB...between the both, I should become a DevOps/Systems Engineer Gawd!!! Just kidding btw...still newb'ing :-)!
Just getting my toe wet with Mr. rwxrob...appreciate all the content and edification! Looking forward to bigger and brighter things...still gathering parts/pieces for the homelab, wasn't sure what to host or tying it all together...for that matter! But, linux (check), git (check), containers (half-check)...maybe a little AI...(help that is...). And as always, would love to be able to secure employment doing all these things!!!

Username conversation

I'm curious to see what people think of my GitHub Username; rob mentioned last night on his stream that using 'GamerTags' can be unprofessional. I've had this GitHub account for a very long time and the majority of all my online presence is behind this Username (this includes gaming).
I am NOT against creating a new account to create a more professional outlook for future employers. So some feedback on this would be appreciated.

Hi there from Spain,
Analog design engineer and lately asic architect. I've been applying much of the stuff I learned from @rwxrob for years, from my on note taking system (which literally something I cannot live without right now) to use bash in analog design etc. Integrating git into ASIC design workflows, containers, name it...
I mean, we use computers, and this boost will make you look a jedi (in the eyes of others), and many concepts applies to other disciplines.
I'm eager to learn how other professionals dealt with advancing in their respective careers.

I am from the SF Bay area, and pretty new to all of this. Mid 40s and realizing the "city-job" is a trap and I want out, so I started to look at what is possible for me to get into and and started binging on how to get into I.T. content one day. It felt right as I always had patience with trying to fix stuff, and even troubleshooting my own and other's computer problems, it felt natural to veer towards tech. Got into the helpdesk at my job but they pulled the position after 6 months due to budget issues, so back to square one trying to find my way back in. Always had a curiousity about linux and found a couple of communities on twitch including rwxrob, so here I am.

I am pretty new to the tech world. I have a degree in project management. For my final capstone project, I worked with a team of programmers who built a fully functioning app and a networking team who built the network the app ran on. It was super cool to oversee the project from beginning to end.

Just bought Mischa Van's Udemy course "Kubernetes Masterclass for absolute beginners", and in the intro, he mentions Rx Robb, who inspired him in creating his lab repo, and I just came here to the wonderful family. I just bought the CKAD bundle at a discount of upto 60% for both study and exam. I wanted to do CKA, since I'm more DevOps inclined, but the chance was here. (Instead of paying $645, I paid $285.) I needed a more pro-style approach to mastery instead of too much text. I just finished a bootcamp-style DevOps course, and am here to meet people who are on the path I just started to journey, much love.
