My apps.yaml has a £ symbol in it and it works fine with HAOS. As far as I know there is no issue with Docker users running predbat. My apps.yaml extract: |

Yes, that's exactly what my apps.yaml says too, but it doesn't load unless
I change the encoding. The log file complains about ASCII code 0x83 which
is £. apps.yaml is the only file with that character in it. So each time
predbat updates I have to change utils.py to add the encoding change before
it works.

My apps.yaml extract:
# Currency, symbol for main currency second symbol for 1/100s e.g. $ c or £ p or e c
currency_symbols:
- '£'
- 'p'

Fair enough. Maybe when I feel like poking at it I'll have a look but it
works for now! Thanks for the help.

Sorry no idea. This works fine for me and is the predbat default apps.yaml
template that hundreds of people are using with both HAOS and Docker.
It sounds like an issue with your docker setup but I can't advise more.

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
Running predbat in a Synology docker (probably not the cause of this but maybe it's relevant) fails to start because my apps.yaml has a £ character in it which yaml.safe_load on line 423 of utils.py fails to load because it complains that £ isn't utf-8. If I change the file open on the previous line to have an encoding of latin-1 then it's all fine and runs perfectly. Is this something anyone else has noticed? I'm running version 9.2.0 but the same problem occurred in 9.1.0 and 9.0.2, which is the first time I installed it.
