Preview numbered citations in PDFs without links - #38

Publisher-processed PDFs such as IEEE Xplore downloads drop their citation links, so hovering [3] showed nothing. Plain-text numbered citations now preview their reference entry, and reference previews no longer spill into the neighbouring column on narrow two-column layouts.
In tightly set reference lists the preview's top padding showed the last line of the entry above.

🤖 PDFs downloaded from publisher portals such as IEEE Xplore have their citation links stripped, so hovering a citation like [3] showed no preview. Numbered citations in plain text now preview their reference entry, and reference previews on narrow two-column layouts no longer include the neighbouring column. Author-year citations are not covered yet.
Test: open an IEEE Xplore PDF whose citations are not clickable and hover a [N] citation.
