Description

The bip-44 snap test sometimes fails on Firefox when an error alert is already open on the Test Snaps window.

Flake type: Race Conditions on Driver/Helpers Functions

Root cause:

• The test signs with a real entropy source, approves the MetaMask dialog, and switches back to the Test Snaps window.
• It then picks the Invalid entropy source, types a message, and clicks Sign while that window is still focused.
• Invalid entropy fails immediately. No confirmation dialog opens. The Test Snaps page shows an error alert on the window that already has focus: Entropy source with ID "invalid" not found.
• Next the test waits for that alert. The wait first asks the browser for the current window title.
• On Firefox, a normal browser command fails if an alert is already open. Asking for the title throws before the wait ever looks for the alert.
• The same step often passes when the alert opens a moment later, after the title has already been read.

Solution:

• If asking for the window title hits an alert that is already open, check that alert's message and finish the wait, so Firefox does not fail the test before the alert check runs.
• Use that same message check when a window switch hits an open alert, so both paths confirm the expected text the same way.
• If the alert text does not match, still fail the test. A wrong message is no longer treated as success when Firefox cannot read the alert another way.

Manual testing steps

1. Start a Firefox test build with yarn start:test:mv2.
2. Run the bip-44 snap test on Firefox:

SELENIUM_BROWSER=firefox yarn test:e2e:single test/e2e/snaps/test-snap-bip-44.spec.ts

3. Confirm can pop up bip-44 snap and get private key result passes, including the invalid entropy alert Entropy source with ID "invalid" not found.

Overview
Fixes flaky bip-44 (and related snap) E2E runs on Firefox when a browser alert is already open before waitForBrowserAlert runs.

waitForBrowserAlert now treats UnexpectedAlertOpenError from an initial getTitle() the same as when window switching hits an open alert: a shared verifyUnexpectedAlertError helper validates the alert message (Firefox via direct alert access, other browsers via error text parsing) and completes the wait instead of failing early.

The duplicate inline handling in the cross-window wait loop is replaced with that helper. On Firefox, a text mismatch from the direct alert read is re-thrown rather than logged and treated as success when the alert cannot be read another way.
