Location Information/GPS Co-ordinates of datasets on GeoBench

I can't seem to find lat/lon or associated GPS information with any of the classification datasets downloaded with GeoBench. The original datasets (non-GeoBench subsets) seem to be GeoTIFFs with valid geospatial information. Is there a way to retrieve this information from GeoBench's split of EuroSAT, So2Sat, and BigEarthNet?

@arjunarao619 did you proceed to manually process any GeoTIFFs for any of the datasets here so that we can actually use geospatial coordinates of this dataset?

I've just finished analyzing all of the datasets on Zenodo, looking for pre-processing scripts that could potentially allow us to identify the exact indices from the original datasets, e.g. for BigEarthNet.

Sadly, I do not see any record anywhere that would allow us to trace back the GeoBench train/test samples to the original datasets, where we could then manually derive the geospatial coordinates.

I think it's really a shame that there is a benchmark dataset for geospatial intelligence that has lost track of the geospatial coordinates from the original datasets being processed. I do not plan to address this any further.

Thanks for raising this and apologies for the very late overdue reply. The v1 subsets don't retain per-sample georeferencing (lat/lon, CRS, transform), and there's no mapping back to the source datasets to recover it. We aren't planning to change this in v1.
GEO-Bench-2 is the successor of this benchmark and does contain lat/lon metadata when avaiable in the original dataset.
