Four minds. One mission. Infinite possibilities.
Welcome to The Usual Idiotsβa student-led organization created by four students from SIES who came together through our major project and a shared curiosity about technology.
We are a small team with big ideas. We learn by building, experiment with emerging technologies, and turn challenging concepts into practical projects. This organization is a space for us to collaborate, grow our skills, and document our journey as we work toward creating solutions that can make a meaningful difference.
Our mission is to explore new technologies and use them to solve real-world problems. We believe the best way to learn is to create, the best way to improve is to collaborate, and the best way to innovate is to stay curious.
Through our projects, we aim to:
- Build useful and thoughtful technology
- Transform ideas into working solutions
- Learn from experimentation and failure
- Share knowledge and support one another
- Grow as developers, problem-solvers, and teammates
We work across different areas of technology depending on the problem we are trying to solve. Our interests include:
- Software development and web technologies
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Automation and intelligent systems
- Open-source tools and collaboration
- Research, prototyping, and experimentation
Our projects are driven by learning and impact. Some may begin as ideas for our major project, while others grow from questions, experiments, or technologies we want to understand better.
Every project gives us a chance to ask better questions and learn something new. We build because we enjoy the process of taking an idea from a conversation, through a few unexpected problems, and into something that actually works.
For us, progress is not only about the final result. It is also about the late-night discussions, the small breakthroughs, and the lessons we carry into whatever we build next.
We keep our work collaborative and practical:
- Explore β We identify a problem, ask questions, and research possible approaches.
- Build β We create prototypes and turn our ideas into working software.
- Learn β We test, improve, and learn from both successes and failures.
- Share β We document our work so that our progress and knowledge can help others.
We are four students from SIES who enjoy learning, building, and figuring things out together. We may each see problems differently, but that is what makes our conversations, ideas, and projects more interesting.
The Usual Idiots started as a major project group, but it has grown into a place where we can freely explore ideas, try new things, and turn rough concepts into something real. We are here to learn from one another, enjoy the process, and keep improving with every project.
Our repositories contain the projects, experiments, and resources we create along the way. Explore our work to see what we are learning, what we are building, and how our ideas evolve over time.
We are always looking for opportunities to improve our projects, learn from the developer community, and collaborate with people who enjoy solving interesting problems.
We want to continue growing beyond our major project by:
- Exploring technologies that can shape the future
- Creating projects with practical real-world value
- Contributing to the open-source community
- Building a record of what we learn
- Inspiring other students to start building
This is only the beginning of our journey. We may be students today, but every project brings us one step closer to becoming the creators and innovators we want to be.
Whether you are here to explore our work, learn from our experiments, or collaborate on an idea, you are welcome to follow along.
Learn. Build. Experiment. Improve. Repeat.
Built with curiosity, teamwork, and a little bit of chaos by the four of us at The Usual Idiots.
