No. Explorer remains the desktop shell, and files remain normal files and folders. DeskBox adds independently managed widgets above the existing desktop. Uninstalling DeskBox never touches your files.

Choose x64 for almost all Intel and AMD Windows PCs, ARM64 for native Windows on ARM devices such as Snapdragon PCs. Check Settings → System → About → System type if unsure. See Download and Install.
Legacy direct installers (1.4.7 and earlier) download a missing Windows App Runtime. Starting with 1.4.8, the standard x64 and ARM64 Full installers bundle the matching private runtime and install offline; Native AOT needs no separate .NET runtime.

No. Disabling a feature closes its UI and releases runtime resources, while its saved configuration remains available for the next time you enable it.

Use the in-app Feedback entry — it can attach a privacy-filtered diagnostics package automatically, which is the fastest path to a fix. Plain reports are welcome on GitHub Issues; feature ideas and questions fit Discussions.
