Utility tools and development scripts for the SDS (Smart Defense System) project.
This repository contains supporting tools used during SDS development, testing, debugging, deployment, and system maintenance.
sdsTools provides utilities that are shared across the SDS development environment but do not belong to a specific SDS runtime component.
Typical tools may include:
- System configuration scripts
- Network configuration and diagnostics
- Deployment utilities
- Remote development tools
- Git/development automation
- Hardware test utilities
- Protocol debugging tools
- Image and filesystem utilities
- Production and maintenance scripts
The SDS software is divided into several repositories:
| Repository | Purpose |
|---|---|
sdsMain |
Main SDS application and system control |
sdsCamera |
Camera, AI detection, and vision processing |
sdsCom |
Communication and protocol components |
sdsServo |
Gimbal and servo control |
sdsPlatform |
Platform/BSP and system integration |
sdsTools |
Development, debugging, deployment, and maintenance tools |
The structure of this repository may evolve as additional tools are added.
Example:
sdsTools/
├── network/
├── deployment/
├── debug/
├── hardware/
├── scripts/
└── README.md
Each utility should contain either:
- A short description in the script header, or
- Its own README when additional configuration or dependencies are required.
For shell scripts:
chmod +x tool.sh
./tool.sh
For Python tools:
python3 tool.py
Requirements depend on the individual utility.
Common SDS development environments include:
- Linux / Embedded Linux
- Windows development workstations
- Git
- SSH / SCP
- Python 3
- Bash
Some utilities may require additional packages such as tcpdump, networking tools, or hardware-specific utilities.
When adding a new tool:
- Place it in the appropriate directory.
- Use a descriptive filename.
- Document required arguments and dependencies.
- Avoid hard-coded device-specific configuration where possible.
- Test the tool before committing it to the repository.
sdsTools is part of the SDS development ecosystem and is intended primarily for SDS development, integration, debugging, and production-support workflows.
