This page collects the most common questions people ask when they first encounter Electrical Age. If you do not see your question below, hop on Discord or open a GitHub issue (links at the bottom) and we will try to point you in the right direction.
Only Minecraft 1.7.10 is supported for this branch of Electrical Age. There are no plans to back-port or forward-port this codebase to 1.12 or other releases.
Electrical Age 2 is a separate, ground-up rewrite. It is not a direct continuation of this project, so features, saves, and APIs will not match.
No. Minecraft ticks at 20 Hz, so the cleanest wave the simulator can show is a 10 Hz square wave. Internally we sometimes sub-step to keep the Modified Nodal Analysis solver stable, but that does not reach the player. Diodes only update once per tick, so anything above 5 Hz breaks down, and even 1 Hz+ can create runaway shorts. Without higher tick rates or proper inductive receivers, AC would be both inaccurate and useless, so the team focuses on features that shine in the current engine.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, but we are not taking paid feature work or monetary donations. The best way to help is to test, report bugs, and keep documentation current.
We always need:
- Translators for languages beyond American English.
- Wiki contributors who can document new mechanics or update older guides.
- Engineers (professional or hobbyist) who understand MNA, Thevenin, or Norton models and can review simulation changes.
