Getting Started

Prerequisites

Make sure you have installed:

Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/anujsharma8d/mockspire
cd mockspire

Installation

Frontend

cd client
npm install

Backend

Open another terminal:

cd server
npm install

Environment Variables

Create a .env file inside the client directory:

VITE_API_URL=http://localhost:5000

Create a .env file inside the server directory:

PORT=5000
MONGO_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
JWT_SECRET=your_jwt_secret
GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key

Add your own values to the environment variables. Do not commit .env to GitHub.


Running the Application

Start Backend

cd server
npm run dev

The backend will run on: http://localhost:5000

Start Frontend

In another terminal:

cd client
npm run dev

The frontend will run on the Vite development server.


Interview Insights

After completing an interview, Mockspire provides a detailed performance breakdown:

Insight Description
Performance Score Understand your overall interview performance.
Core Strengths See the areas where you demonstrated strong performance.
Focus Areas Identify specific areas that require more practice.
Detailed Feedback Understand what you did well and what could be improved.
