A streaming dashboard and agent-aware player for an independent Hermes Desktop preview. Dock the player beside chat, pop it out, pin it above other apps, or use fullscreen. Watching does not require an AI model or a linked chat. Optionally link a saved chat to let Hermes inspect the player and control eligible media. Ordinary YouTube videos also have transcript and download jobs with cancellation.
Experimental preview — not an official Nous release, a stock-Hermes plugin, or a Nous Catalog listing. This distribution includes its own modified Hermes host and separate application state. The Catalog hold remains in place.
Download the archive for your exact operating system and architecture from the
experimental.6 release, together with its .sha256 sidecar.

| Windows x64 | Windows ZIP | GUI, provider sign-in and media playback UNTESTED. Installed files and isolated backend lifecycle verified; installer timing qualification below. |
| Linux x64 | Linux ZIP | GUI, provider sign-in and media playback UNTESTED. Native installer/backend lifecycle passed on Omarchy. Other compositors are unvalidated. |
Other operating systems and architectures are not included.

These results cover one tested setup, not every account, display, program, ad transition or service plan. Subscription services are for streaming; transcript/download jobs apply to eligible ordinary YouTube videos, not protected subscription programs.
-
Verify the outer ZIP against its sidecar, extract the complete archive, and open its target folder. Keep the files in that folder together.
-
Run Install HermesTV, then Launch HermesTV, using the helper for your platform:
Platform Install Launch macOS Install HermesTV.commandLaunch HermesTV.commandWindows Install HermesTV.cmdLaunch HermesTV.cmdLinux Install HermesTV.shLaunch HermesTV.sh -
Model setup is optional for watching; you can defer it with the setup screen's choose-later option.
-
Enable Desktop: HermesTV in its plugin settings. Open it from the permanent HermesTV titlebar button or Cmd+K / Ctrl+K → Open HermesTV. The button brings the pane back after closing it.
-
Choose a service and sign in to that service if needed. Its account and subscription requirements still apply. No chat linking is needed to watch.
-
Follow the target folder's
ACCEPTANCE.mdfor your own final checks.
To use player awareness, agent controls, or transcript/download tools, configure a model in Hermes, open a saved chat, and click Link session. Ask Hermes appends an unsent prompt to that chat. Set up the private media helpers before testing transcripts or downloads.
GPT-6 Luna / Low was the tested configuration, not a requirement. Other models/providers have not been validated for these agent features in this preview. To reproduce our tested setup, choose ChatGPT or Codex Subscription below Nous in setup and complete device authorization in your browser. Use your own account; no credentials are included or imported from stock Hermes.
For a separate clean installation, the install helper accepts both --install-dir ABSOLUTE_PATH
and --state-dir ABSOLUTE_PATH. The state path can be selected on first installation only; updates
preserve the ownership marker's existing state path. The default application state is separate
from stock Hermes. See installation and limitations.
- macOS uses local ad-hoc signatures and is not Developer ID signed or notarized. Windows has no publisher signature. Your operating system may warn or block launch. The helpers do not remove quarantine, disable security protections, or change execution policy.
- On the Windows test PC, the install harness timed out after 300 seconds during the slow helper run. Installation was independently verified from its receipt, ownership marker, pointer and complete release tree. Backend ensure, exact source/home checks, running-lock refusal, scoped stop and state-preserving uninstall passed. The helper's final exit code was not observed.
- OBS/capture coexistence and long-duration protected-video stability remain unverified. Closing capture software and fully relaunching the desktop recovered black video in the test setup; this is a workaround, not a proven root cause. Assess protected video on the physical display.
- Widevine is fetched through the runtime component updater; no CDM, account credentials, browser profile, EVS account tokens or private service state is bundled. Runtime readiness does not guarantee a provider will accept this client. Linux VMP is platform-unverified.
The ZIPs are the exact accepted archives. Their included VALIDATION.md files describe status at
packaging time, before the later acceptance runs. The current hash-bound results are in
release acceptance and the release notes; the ZIPs were not rewritten.
