I am a PHP, Go and TypeScript developer based in Minneapolis.
I work across the entire stack, but I’m happiest in the backend. Moving data, pushing bytes around, making things fast.
I ❤️ tiny reusable parts with single responsibilities and no side effects. I keep code simple, clear, and easy for anyone to read.
I’ve spent fifteen years in EdTech keeping old systems running and new ones from catching fire. Before that I built industrial and B2B tools where things had to work because people depended on them.
I’ve been spending time on mpo, my Go library and command-line toolkit for working with MPO stereoscopic photos. It can split MPOs into JPEG frames, create new MPOs, and turn them into side-by-side or anaglyph images—making older 3D-photo formats a little more practical to use. (github.com)
I’ve also kept experimenting with picopass, a TinyGo project that turns a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W into a small USB keyboard for typing time, a configured password, or a generated TOTP code. It’s deliberately a hands-on hardware experiment for disposable test credentials and for learning about Wi-Fi, NTP, USB serial, and HID behavior on tiny devices. (github.com)
The common thread has been small, focused tools: making niche formats easier to handle on one side, and exploring a very tangible little input device on the other.
I’ve been thinking a lot about reviewability. I still appreciate Go because straightforward code makes it easier to understand changes, discuss tradeoffs, and take real responsibility for what gets merged.
