Software engineer with seven years of React and TypeScript. I enjoy spending time in the terminal, finding new terminal tools, and building the tools I want to exist.

Current projects

  • shiso — local-first smart recipe manager, meal planner and grocery list with real-time synchronization for groups. One Flutter codebase, five platforms, works offline with a highly optimized UX. Private until release.
  • baijia-suo — Wayland screen locker in Rust: out-of-process PAM, mlocked and zeroized password buffers, fail-closed by protocol. Carries 66 vintage xlockmore/xscreensaver animations forward to Wayland.
  • magehand — local RAG assistant for tabletop game masters: rules answers cited down to the file and section, campaign state explorable in a plain-markdown Obsidian vault.
  • quickword — Android dictionary in a notification: select a word anywhere, and get a definition or synonyms without an app switch. 1.4M words offline, additional/optional 38MB corpus of Wikipedia's top 50k entries to cover common proper nouns.
  • tidetime.date — A better UI/UX for NOAA tide data and non-professionals. Useful for planning tide-based activities (like tide-pooling), and it comes with calendar imports / subscriptions.
