Claude Code can do it without touching the file: `"skillOverrides": { "crible-cli": "user-invocable-only" }` in `settings.json` leaves `/crible-cli` working while hiding the skill from the model. Updating or reinstalling restores the shipped default, so reapply the change afterwards.
