A lightweight, client-side HTML tool that converts any image file into a Base64 Data URL. This allows you to embed images directly into HTML, CSS, or JSON without needing to host the image file on a separate server.
- Pure Client-Side: No images are uploaded to a server. All processing happens in your browser for maximum privacy.
- Instant Conversion: Uses the JavaScript
FileReaderAPI for real-time string generation. - One-Click Copy: Includes a built-in "Copy Link" button for ease of use.
- Zero Dependencies: Built with plain HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript.
- Open the Tool: Save the code as an
.htmlfile (e.g.,index.html) and open it in any modern web browser. - Upload Image: Click the "Choose File" button and select an image from your device.
- Generate Link: The tool will instantly populate the text area with a string starting with
data:image/.... - Copy: Click the Copy Link button to save the string to your clipboard.
The tool utilizes the Base64 encoding scheme. Base64 is used to represent binary data (like images) in an ASCII string format.
- In HTML:
<img src="PASTE_GENERATED_LINK_HERE">
- In CSS:
.element { background-image: url("PASTE_GENERATED_LINK_HERE"); }
- File Size: Base64 strings are roughly 33% larger than the original binary file. It is recommended for small icons or low-resolution images.
- Browser Performance: Extremely large images may cause a slight delay in the browser while generating the string.
