What

Adds .github/workflows/test.yml: on every push and pull request to main, an ubuntu-latest job checks out the repo, installs the active Node LTS via actions/setup-node@v4, and runs node --test scripts/*.mjs — the verify command documented in AGENTS.md. The job is read-only (permissions: contents: read), uses only actions/checkout@v4 and actions/setup-node@v4, and needs no secrets or external services.

Why

The repo had no .github/ directory and no CI on main (an older ci.yml exists only on surge/* branches and never landed). Meanwhile scripts/ holds three node:test suites (7 tests) locking doc/config invariants — AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md import chains, publish-guide entry points, guide link integrity — and the repo takes recurring agent PRs that could regress them without any automated check.

Verification

  • node --test scripts/*.mjs locally (Node v26.10.0): 7 tests, 7 pass, 0 fail.
  • ruby -e "require 'yaml'; YAML.load_file('.github/workflows/test.yml')": parses as valid YAML.
  • Workflow steps limited to checkout, setup-node, and the test command, per plan.

AGENTS.md defines node --test scripts/*.mjs as the verify command but
no workflow runs it, so doc/config invariants can regress silently.
