PEP 541 Request: adversarial #12513

Description

Project to be claimed

Your PyPI username

Reasons for the request

The project looks like a packaging-tutorial test upload with no functionality, and it has had no activity since its only release. I'm asking for it under the PEP 541 "invalid projects" and "abandoned projects" sections.

  • One release, 18 months ago: the only release is 0.0.1, uploaded 2025-04-04. There have been no releases or updates since.
  • No functionality: the sdist holds an empty src/adversarial/__init__.py and a src/adversarial/test.py with a single add_one(number) function that returns number + 1.
  • Placeholder metadata: the README is only a # Adversarial heading and the summary is "A small package". The pyproject.toml still contains the commented-out pypa/sampleproject URLs from the Python Packaging User Guide tutorial.
  • No project links or contact details: the metadata has no homepage, repository, issue tracker or author email.

Contact and additional research

I looked for a way to contact the owner and found none:

  • The package metadata names the author only as "Jack Sanderson", with no email address.
  • There are no project URLs, homepage or repository in the metadata, and none in the sdist.

I inspected the published sdist (adversarial-0.0.1.tar.gz) and the PyPI JSON API to confirm the contents and upload dates described above.
