Task: remove vortex-* deps from xtask

• Read the issue and locate the vortex-* usage in xtask
• Make the vortex-* deps optional behind a feature (conditional compile for generate-editions)
• Gate the generate-editions module/command; keep shared constants available to check-editions
• Verify xtask builds without the feature (no vortex deps) and with it
• Commit & push

What I did

Only the generate-editions subcommand touches vortex-* (it reads edition declarations from vortex-edition, vortex-json, vortex-spatial, vortex-tensor, vortex-zstd). I took the conditional-compile route from the issue:

• Marked all five vortex-* deps optional = true in xtask/Cargo.toml.
• Added an editions feature (default-on) that enables them.
• Gated mod generate_editions, the Editions command, and its dispatch arm behind #[cfg(feature = "editions")] in main.rs.
• Moved the shared RECORD_DIR / FAMILY_FILE constants into the always-compiled check_editions module so check-editions (which has no vortex deps) still builds with the feature off.

Result: cargo build -p xtask --no-default-features builds xtask with zero vortex-* dependencies, while the default build and all existing cargo run -p xtask -- … invocations (including CI's generate-editions) keep working unchanged.

Checks run

• ✅ cargo check -p xtask (default / editions on)
• ✅ cargo clippy -p xtask --all-targets --all-features -- -D warnings
• ✅ cargo clippy -p xtask --all-targets --no-default-features -- -D warnings
• ✅ cargo fmt -p xtask -- --check (stable; the pinned nightly wasn't installed here, but the diff is only reordered imports/consts consistent with existing style)

Note on making it default-off

I left editions on by default so CI's cargo run -p xtask -- generate-editions step keeps passing without a workflow change (I can't modify .github/workflows/). If you'd rather drop vortex-* from the default build graph too, flip default = [] and add --features editions to the generate-editions step in .github/workflows/ci.yml (line ~877).
