Requirements tracker for the Zebrafish Phenotype Atlas Project

Project Management Plan

This project operates using a hybrid project management style. There are seven high-level requirements, as determined by the team, with each broken down into sub-requirements. These seven requirements, and their sub-requirements, have interdependencies that are factored into their prioritization for delivering a Submission Form and Atlas MVP (minimum viable product).

We operate on a two week iteration schedule with planning and check-in meetings weekly.
The ZAPP Requirements Project Board is where we track the requirements. This repository and it's tickets can also be used for documenting planning and resons behind decisions, as needed, but is not used for project work.
When a requirement ticket is listed as "Stable" this means it's ready to be used for any further development that depends on this requirement. As a team, we understand "Stable" means the requirement may need to be tweeked as future development happens, however a baseline is complete and ready to be used.
The assigned person/people on each requirement ticket are who we go to if there are questions about a requirement, whether in development or stable.
The ZAPP Task Tracker is for tracking the detailed activities/tasks which are the actual work to complete each requirement.
Tickets for actual work (found in the other repos listed above) should include a comment referencing the relevant requirement ticket, making it easy to track progress against each requirement.
See the Schedule Network Diagram below for a high level view of the ZAPP Development schedule. There are nuances to this workflow which are found in the ZAPP Requirements Project Board.
For a quick overview of requirements progress, see the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) visuals below. Box colors in the WBS diagrams correspond to the status colors from the ZAPP Requirements Project Board and are updated approximately weekly to reflect the latest status.

Notes About Curators and Lab Personnel

Curators and Lab Personnel also work on 2 week iterations, however, they are on opposite weeks from the technical team. This is to allow time for the curators to address technical team ontology needs and to have more time for back and forth feedback about data before a developer iteration is complete.
The Curator and Lab Team has a fortnightly meeting to focus on curation, ontology, or laboratory topics. Developers can also join this call to ask questions from this team as our subject matter experts.
Task trackers, requirements and schedule diagrams listed above all apply to the Curators and Lab personnel.
