Python CI currently runs for unrelated changes, and publishing workflows respond to every GitHub release. Limit CI to relevant package and workflow changes, and publish Python artifacts only for the existing 0.* / v0.* release tags.

  • Add path filters for libs/infinity_emb/, libs/embed_package/, and their CI workflows/actions. Remove nightly and release CI triggers while retaining manual dispatch.
  • Use the triggering release version for Docker and Modal instead of discovering the latest repository tag.
  • Keep prereleases from updating Docker/docs latest aliases or deploying the Modal demo.
  • Give the Python package its own README and stop replacing it during PyPI publishing. The root README is unchanged.
  • Scope client generation to its project inputs, supply its required Poetry working directory, and document CI/release conventions in the contributor guide.

Validation

  • All GitHub Actions workflows pass actionlint 1.7.7 (optional shellcheck/pyflakes integrations disabled).
  • Built the Python wheel and source distribution; verified the package README in the wheel metadata.
  • Passed 88 local checks covering release routing, relevant/unrelated CI paths, Docker tags, documentation aliases, Modal version selection, and client-generation paths. Publishing commands were stubbed; no artifacts were published.
  • git diff --check passes.

RetriggerConfidence Score: 5/5

[High impact] The PR appears safe to merge; the Python release guards and prerelease behavior match the documented project split.

Summary

Prepares the repository for a separate Rust-based Infinity v3 project without adding Rust source or publishing workflows.

  • Python release jobs use Python tags and the triggering version.
  • Python docs keep prereleases out of the latest alias.
  • The Python package keeps its own install and usage guide.
  • The repository gives Python and planned Rust Infinity separate identities.
  • Client generation runs only when its Python inputs change.
